During the Eid holiday, we, along with two other families with small kids, headed to Oman for camping in the desert...
I have to admit holidays are much more fun now that we have a kid. We are getting really excited for this year's Halloween though we are just starting to decorate and think of the costume ideas. Today, we focused on getting our hands on some pumpkins in Dubai and doing research for costume ideas (Thank you, OhHappyDay).
is the Al Fayrooz cafe above the restaurant Arboretum. The cafe has a wrap around balcony from which you have the perfect view of the Burj Al Arab. We always take our visitors here because the Al Qasr hotel is tastefully done in a very opulent Arabic style and it is never crowded with people. You can really sit and enjoy whatever you are there for. We usually take our son to the breakfast (we never make it to the brunch since it starts at 1 p.m. and he naps from 12 to 3 p.m...) at the Arboretum which is super family friendly with Stokke chairs for kids!
Here is one of our favorite spots in Dubai...
There is, of course, the World's Tallest Building in Dubai called the Burj Khalifa. We have been there a couple of times every time we have visitors. The very first time we went there, we bought tickets to go up to the observation deck but we quickly realized that the best way to go up the building and actually enjoy it is to go have some drinks at the At'mosphere bar on the 123th floor. You definitely need a reservation and there is a minimum you have to drink or eat for male customers. However, considering that the tickets to go up to the observation deck cost between 100 to 400 Dhs, it is definitely worth it to go to the bar!
I never posted the pictures of the chicken that I cooked. Both the chicken and the potatoes came out nice and crispy on the outside and moist and tender inside!
There is finally a collection of maternity clothes that would make any women want to get pregnant! Well, their pieces are so cleverly designed that they can be worn pre, during and post pregnancy. What's more, they have partnered with one of my favorite charity organization, EveryMotherCounts dedicated to raising awareness about maternal mortality in around the world.
