We bought this Eames Rocking Chair for our son yesterday. I LOVE it! Purchased at Mood in the Mall of the Emirates.
We just returned from a long weekend celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary at Six Senses Resort, Zighy Bay in Oman.
Our favorite cupcake place when we lived in London was the Hummingbird bakery. We lived in South Kensington and there was one right near the tube station there or we could walk to their location on Portobello road in Knotting Hill. We were at the Dubai Mall the other day and we found out that they opened a branch here! We were delighted. It is even better because Jedi works there.
Jedi of Dubai
I have been trying to go swimming at least twice a week. This week, I was successful in swimming two days in a row! I think the menu of the last practice was something like: 200 m warmup, 4x150 m, 6x100 m, 6x75 m, 6x 50 m, and 6x 25 m. We might have swam more at the end but I cannot remember. Coach Seth is the best coach ever and I recommend anyone who used to swim or is learning to swim to join the club!
Though it is getting hot, I love this time of the year in Dubai when the flame trees blossom...
I cannot believe it's been 7 weeks since our daughter was born. Time really does fly! She is still waking up twice at night for feeding so it's been tiring but I recently went back to exercising again. Running and biking are still uncomfortable for obvious reasons and Dubai is getting really hot nowadays but swimming is doable. My husband and I have been swimming with the Dubai Masters Swimming Club since March 2011 and love it. So far, I have gone back 4 times since 2 weeks ago. One Saturday, I left my husband with two kids and went swimming in the morning but for the evening sessions from 7-8 p.m., we bring her along. She slept soundly in her car seat once but for the last two times my husband had to rock her in her stroller while I swam. It definitely feels great to be back in the pool!!
I am drinking the Sanbazon Acai shake every morning in preparation for our first Half Ironman! We promised to each other that when I am done with this pregnancy, we will sign up to do our first Half Ironman. Training has began....
When I was pregnant, I loved getting these ultrasound photos to take home. These images reminded me that I really had a human inside of my stomach! Now that I am done with two pregnancies, I want to do something with these images. I found this really cool idea online. You can make a canvas print of your baby's ultrasound photo! I think I will definitely do this.
We finally made it to Yamanote Atelier, the Japanese bakery in Dubai. OMG. I went a little nuts and tried everything as I felt so home there. We had the Totoro bread for our son, the friend curry buns (though we had to wait for the fresh batch!), the salt bread with cheese, the corn bread, the Yamanote Croissant, the melon pan, and the croquet bread. Oh, don't forget the macha (green tea) mousse for desert! The hot macha drink was very watery as the guy who made it probably has no idea how the macha is supposed to taste but I told him to reduce the water or increase the macha powder next time he makes it for me!
The place was bustling with people lining up and buying up all the pastries. The bakers continued to bring out fresh batches of everything as we sat there and ate our treats. The branding is tastefully done and I love the color scheme. It definitely reminded me of home... We will definitely go back soon~!!

Greenheart Orgnaics store has finally opened in Arjan/Barsha! We went driving around the desert in Arjan to find it. Since we live in Arabian Ranches, it is really close to us. Basically, it is right next to the Miracle Garden in the Light Commercial Tower. Here is the MAP>>>>
The Farm store is super cute with farm-inspired furniture and freshly picked vegetables and fruits. They even sell local honey and has a nice play area for children which our son enjoyed while we shopped!
The store looks amazing inside.
